Today we have begun the transition into a more typical summertime
pattern with a more southeasterly flow and storm coverage later in
the afternoon. A frontal boundary remains stalled over north Florida
but it will continue to wash out and be less of an influence into
the weekend. Surface high pressure will continue to build over
the area this weekend locking in that E/SE flow into next week.
Saturday into Sunday will be the more typical afternoon shower
pattern, with a diurnal heating and sea breeze convergence playing
a roll in storm development and movement. Some extra moisture
from a very weak tropical wave will move north over the state this
weekend favoring more widespread showers and storms, especially
Sunday.
The typical afternoon showers and storms pattern will continue into
mid week. By Thursday, some drier air will move south into area
dropping PWAT values under 2", and decreasing rain chances.
Temperatures will remain pretty typical of August, low to mid 90s
each day with heat indices reaching into the triple digits for
many areas.

VFR conditions prevail, however showers and storms will develop
inland and will likely move back towards the coast later this
afternoon/evening. Light SE winds will begin to shift slightly more
W/SW along the coast a sea breeze tries to develop. Otherwise E/SE
flow overnight and continue tomorrow. AFternoon showers and storms
expected once again tomorrow as we shift back into the typical
summertime pattern.

Light SE winds will transition onshore as a sea breeze develops.
This will be the pattern throughout the weekend and into next week.
Storms that develop inland each afternoon could be pushed back
towards the coast and over the waters each evening. No headlines are
expected, but winds are forecasted to have an overnight surge
that could near exercise caution the next couple of nights.

University of South Florida, or over Temple Terrace, moving east at
10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
