Conditions won't change much with enhanced moisture focused over the waters and then advecting inland over the Victoria Crossroads with the afternoon sea breeze. Tonight, lows will drop into the low-mid 70s inland to around 80 along the coast. Sunday will be similar to today with a slight chance of showers and storms over the Victoria Crossroads due to the combination of enhanced moisture, sea breeze and 850-700mb positive vorticity. Highs in the mid 90s near the coast to around 102 over the Rio Grande Plains. Onshore flow will persist through Sunday night, raising dewpoints and low temperatures a few degrees higher than tonight. && .LONG TERM... (Monday through next Friday) Issued at 244 PM CDT Sat Sep 2 2023 Key Messages: - Elevated Fire Conditions possible Mon-Tues Operational NBM continues to be too high for PoPs. Nothing really to key in on for convection. Monday into Tuesday do have some weak vorticity stretching down from mid-level low north of Texas, but just doesn't look like enough moisture for widespread showers. That said, ECMWF ensembles do have high potential for at least 0.01" in the northern Coastal Bend...though small chances for more than 0.10". The developmental NBM (4.2) seems much more reasonable with PoPs and have leaned more toward that. Mainly isolated mention for the coastal Bend into Victoria Crossroads daily with some scattered mention in the afternoon for the northern Coastal Bend. Temperatures remain above normal with highs 95 coast to 105 west Monday and Tuesday, before dropping back a few degrees west as layer moisture increases a bit. Could see some periods of elevated fire conditions west Monday and Tuesday as RH values drop to around low levels and briefly elevated winds are expected. && .AVIATION...
