Upper low dropping south across Manitoba today, pushing a cold front through Montana early this morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorm occuring behind the front, and as northwest winds increase, smoke has been brought down to produce reduced visibility. Winds will moderate later this morning and smoke should move out of the region. As the upper low rotates into the Upper Midwest, cooler temperatures move into the region through Thursday night. Pacific upper ridge returns east of the divide for the end of the week, with temperatures warming. A week wave sliding through the ridge could bring a few showers across Montana over the weekend. Ridge breaks down early next week, with showers and thunderstorms returning to the region. Enough model spread to keep pops low and there could be timing changes. && .AVIATION... MVFR conditions as scattered showers and thunderstorms move across the region this morning. Smoke as also been brought into the region behind a cold front as the winds have turned northwest and gusty. IFR conditions are expected with the smoke for several hours early this morning.
