Following an abnormally dry August and September, severe drought conditions persisted into October for portions of far north central Illinois. Between October 11th and 14th, four consecutive days of rainfall amounting to 3.77 recorded at the Rockford Airport, 2.71 of which fell on the 13th alone, helped to alleviate the drought.
