A warm front is in the process of lifting northward through Middle Tennessee, and we're already starting to see some cells appear along the Alabama state line. Look for the activity to continue moving northward with the front and become more prevalent as we get deeper into the afternoon and evening. Expect more widespread convection tomorrow and tomorrow night and Thursday as a strong cold front edges closer to Middle Tennessee, with fropa likely to take place Thursday afternoon. At this time, Middle Tennessee is under a marginal risk of severe storms both tomorrow and Thursday. It will take some time for us to clear out following the frontal passage since the upper low will pass so close to Middle Tennessee. In fact, some cloudiness will likely linger into Saturday with a few straggler showers hanging around the plateau while we try to enjoy our Memorial Day weekend. But sunny skies will emerge on Sunday along with a return to summer- like temperatures. No lightning is observed in the immediate upstream portion but there is a history so this will need to be monitored over the next few hours. Facebook reports indicate a few trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down causing power outages around Waynesboro and Collinwood, including one tree that was blown down on Copeland Street.
Large tree branches and power lines were blown down on Parkes Street at Lafayette Avenue in Lawrenceburg resulting in some power outages.
Tennessee Valley Weather reported several trees, tree limbs, power lines and power poles were blown down across Lawrence County resulting in scattered power outages. This included a few trees blown down in Lawrenceburg.
A Facebook report indicated two trees were blown down in Hohenwald.
Several trees were blown down on Three Oaks Road and Brace Road.
