The observer ten miles south of Grand Marais measured six inches of lake effect snow in 24 hours. Northwest winds gusting over 40 mph also caused considerable blowing snow and lowered visibility.

Three to five inches of lake effect snow fell over the higher terrain of Marquette County over a 24-hour period. The snow in combination with north winds gusting over 40 mph caused near whiteout conditions at times along Highway M-553 from K.I. Sawyer to Gwinn on the evening of the 11th. Law enforcement reported minor accidents near K.I. Sawyer.

The observer in Ironwood measured nearly eight inches of lake effect snow in 24 hours. The snow and northerly winds gusting at or above 25 mph caused visibility in Ironwood to lower near one-half mile at times.

Lake effect snowfall total over a 24-hour period included 6.8 inches at Painesdale and 5.0 inches at Kearsarge. North winds gusting over 40 mph at times also caused occasional whiteout conditions in lake effect snow and blowing snow across the county.

Law enforcement reported trees down on power lines and a blown transformer in the city of Marquette along W. Fair Avenue and Kimber Avenue. Also, a marquee sign at Westwood Mall in Marquette was torn off and strewn across Highway US-41. Wind gusts at the Coast Guard station at the time of the damage were near 45 mph from the north.
