What happened

The episode as NWS LIX wrote it up.

For the 6th consecutive day in a row, at least one severe thunderstorm developed locally. In this case, a weak/stalling frontal boundary began to lift northward across southeast Louisiana as a warm front. In doing so, the lower levels of the atmosphere warmed, which provided a mid level layer of unstable air. Although not many storms developed in this environment, one storm in Slidell was able to utilize that available instability.
