Another period of hazardous heat occurred across southwest Indiana. Heat indices peaked around 105 degrees on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. The peak heat index at Evansville was 105 on the 22nd, 105 on the 23rd, and 107 on the 24th. Another large 500 mb high became stubbornly persistent across the southern states, from the Four Corners region to the Southeast. Underneath this high, daily high temperatures were in the mid 90's. Overnight lows were mostly in the mid 70's.
