.SYNOPSIS...Temperatures will be slightly cooler Monday and
Tuesday, with breezy conditions continuing into Tuesday morning.
A sharp wamring trend will take place later this week, and
temperatures will rise to around 20 degrees above normal Thursday
and Friday, with record high temperatures likely.

.DISCUSSION...
High level cloudiness streaming inland ahead of a trough of low
pressure pushing into central California has provided filtered
sunshine across our area today. The clouds have migrated
southward through our area, and where skies are now more sunny,
generally Fresno county northward, temperatures are running a
degree or so above this time yesterday. Areas still under the high
cloudiness are mostly a degree or so below 24 hours ago. The
trough is beginning to kick up some moderate northwesterly breezes
over northern portions of our area.

The trough will continue to track southward and will spread gusty
winds across central California this afternoon. There is as much
as a 55 to 65 percent probability of seeing wind gusts in excess
of 38 knots across the Kern County mountains and into the desert
below through early Tuesday morning. Although there is likely to
be a brief decrease in wind speeds Monday morning, the current
Wind Advisory has been extended into early Tuesday morning.

Temperatures behind the passing trough will be cooler, and
afternoon highs Monday and Tuesday will be a few degrees lower
than today, but still several degrees above normal. Temperatures
will then warm significantly through the end of the week as high
pressure builds along the west coast. Record high temperatures
are likely Thursday and Friday, with as much as 70 to 80 percent
probabilities of reaching records at several locations in the San
Joaquin Valley. Another incoming low pressure system will then
bring cooler temperatures during next weekend.

&&

.AVIATION...Areas of MVFR visibility in blowing dust in the Kern
County Deserts. Areas of MVFR and local mountain obscuring IFR
through 03Z Monday in showers and possible thunderstorms over the
Sierra Nevada south of Kings Canyon. Otherwise, VFR conditions
will prevail across the Central CA interior through at but m
least the next 24 hours.
