A strong storm system moved across the region, bringing rain to the area initially. Unusually cold air moved in with the system and allowed rain to turn over to snow during the nighttime hours across elevations near or above 4000 feet and especially above 4500 feet. Snowfall amounts of four to eight inches were noted in some areas above 4500 feet, including the Sundance area.
