During October the drought status for Greeley and Wallace counties remained unchanged for the most part. There was a small expansion of the D2 Severe and D3 Extreme Drought area for Wallace County. Observed precipitation ranged from a tenth to a quarter of an inch. Normal precipitation ranged from one to one and a half inches. This is a departure of up to two inches below normal.
