Lingering drought conditions from an abnormally dry summer continued into the month of October for eastern portions of Litchfield county. At the middle of the month, the eastern third of Litchfield county was in D2 to D3 drought conditions. But thanks to near normal precipitation throughout the the month, these conditions improved to now only include the far eastern tip of the county in D2 status.
