.SYNOPSIS...10/1254 PM.

Windy conditions will continue for L.A. and Ventura Counties into
early Tuesday. Warm temperatures and clear skies are expected
for the beginning of the week. By Wednesday, coastal areas will
see overnight to morning clouds. Another low pressure system could
bring additional clouds and a chance of rain to parts of our area
Friday.

&&

.SHORT TERM (TDY-THU)...10/220 PM.

The latest satellite imagery this afternoon indicates that the
cold upper low that brought light precipitation to the area is
about 200 NM south of San Diego. Precip has mostly ended and
partly cloudy skies remain over the mountains while clear skies
remain over the rest of the forecast area. High temperatures will
be slightly above normal today.

The main story for the rest of today and into Tuesday will be
gusty northeast winds over LA and Ventura Counties in the wake of
the low as it continues to exit eastward. Winds over the LA
County mountains were gusting upwards of 65-70 mph earlier today,
so issued a High Wind Warning which will be in effect through
noon Tuesday. For the coasts and valleys of Ventura/LA Counties and
the Ventura County mountains, Wind Advisories are in effect
through 9pm Tuesday. Currently wind speeds have dropped a bit and
winds over the mountains have slightly dropped below warning
criteria. This lull will last through the afternoon but winds are
expected to pick back up this evening and last through the early
morning hours where the LAX-DAG gradient is forecast to peak
around -5 mb with good upper support. Have nudged min temps up
several degrees for tonight due to downsloping winds.

Gusty northeast winds will continue through Tuesday morning then
begin to weaken during the afternoon. Weak high pressure will
build into the region bringing sunny skies and temperatures will
remain a few degrees above normal.

Another sunny day expected on Wednesday. Heights rise a little
more to around 572 dm but gradients trend onshore. The interior
will rise a few degrees while coastal areas drop a few degrees due
to flow switching to onshore.

Models indicate a weak trough moving southward along the
California coast Wednesday night into Thursday. Not expecting any
precipitation with this one, but there is a chance of marine layer
stratus over the coastal areas through Thursday morning. Otherwise
a mostly sunny day is expected with near normal temperatures.

.LONG TERM (FRI-MON)...10/217 PM.

A second trough drops into the Great Basin on Friday with the GFS
trending a little deeper than the EC. Cloud cover will increase
and temperatures will drop to just below normal. Not a lot of
moisture associated with it, but with northerly flow could see a
slight chance of some light showers over the mountains.

A weak ridge moves in behind the trough on Saturday before another
trough approaches on Sunday. Temperatures will rise back to normal
for Saturday with mostly clear skies and light offshore flow.
Cloud cover will increase on Sunday with flow turning onshore, but
not expecting any precip. Northerly gradients strengthen Sunday
night into Monday as the trough moves eastward, so gusty northerly
winds are likely.

Across the northern and outer coastal waters, winds will diminish
and seas will subside this morning. There is a 30 percent chance

are expected through this afternoon, from just north of Point Mugu
