What happened

The episode as NWS PBZ wrote it up.

Upper level low pressure crossed the region on December 2nd. Increasing support for lift, as well as a favorable northwest flow, allowed numerous snow showers to impact the higher elevations of West Virginia, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. A few inches of snow were able to accumulate before snow rates decreased overnight as a result of thinning moisture.
