What happened

The episode as NWS PBZ wrote it up.

Upper level low pressure crossed the region on December 2nd. Increasing support for lift, as well as a favorable northwest flow, allowed numerous snow showers to impact the higher elevations of western Maryland, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. One to two inches of snow were able to accumulate before snow rates decreased overnight as a result of thinning moisture.
