Paltry rainfall and modest humidity allowed Severe (D2) Drought to persist across all but the eastern quarter of Jim Hogg County through the end of October. A sliver of Extreme (D3) Drought that appeared on the 15th was eliminated by rain that grazed the border of Webb County on the 17th.
