At the Malta South US-191 DOT site, two separate high wind events occurred on the 24th. For the first one, sustained winds of at least 40 mph began at 4:37 AM and ended at 10:30 AM. The first severe wind gust of 63 mph was measured at 4:46 AM. The peak wind gusts of 66 mph were measured from 6:45 AM through 6:48 AM. For the second event, sustained winds of at least 40 mph began at 11:45 AM and ended at 2:00 PM. The first severe wind gust of 63 mph was measured at 12:15 PM. The peak wind gusts of 63 mph were measured from 12:15 PM through 12:20 PM and from 12:40 PM through 12:45 PM. Severe wind gusts of 58 mph were also measured in the town of Zortman at 6:00 AM and 1:15 PM.
