A band of lake effect snow moved into Lake County Indiana during the morning of January 20th producing heavy snow. Accidents were reported along Interstate 80/94. Storm total snowfall amounts included 6.5 inches two miles southwest of East Chicago and 6.0 inches at the Gary Airport.
