The Tincup fire began July 30th due to a lightning strike and burned the entire month of August. It was located approximately 30 miles northeast of Soda Springs. It was allowed to burn naturally and grew to 264 acres by the end of August. It reduced heavy dead and down fuel loading that was above historic range to to past fire suppression.

.DISCUSSION...Cloud cover has been the limiting factor in
developing convection so far today, but radar imagery showing some
very weak returns across the southeast. These returns slowly
filling in and strengthening so still believe that a few
thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening. Further
north, some instability still in play with a few cells popping
early this afternoon so have left weak precip chances in for the
evening. Still some model solutions painting some redevelopment
late tonight in portions of the Snake Plain and southern
highlands. Better conditions exist for during the day Thursday and
have left more widespread precip chances across the region.
Shortwave drives through Washington and the northern panhandle
region on Friday. Moisture stream still in place but proximity to
the upper dynamics puts best chances for thunder in the central
mountains on Friday. Passage of this feature should introduce some
drying for Saturday, but overall the pattern looks to repeat by
Sunday with additional moisture surging north into the region.
Expect thunderstorms across at least portions of East Idaho Sunday
through midweek. DMH

.AVIATION...Have vicinity thunderstorms at all sites other than SUN
this afternoon and evening. Monsoonal moisture pushing into Idaho
on southerly flow aloft. Will have thunderstorms again Thursday
across southeast Idaho.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Big impacts will be thunderstorms this evening and also Thursday
afternoon and evening. Right now no highlights out as kept coverage
mainly isolated and a lot of moisture involved as well. Humidity
very elevated the next two days. Expect isolated thunderstorms
Friday as well but not as widespread. Hot conditions are expected
through the next week with mainly dry conditions Saturday and Sunday
wtih thunderstorms returning early next week.
