Major flooding continued along the Ouachita River at Monroe through the first few days of April, before the river slowly began to recede below the 45 foot major flood stage. The water flooded the bottom of the Desiard Street (Endom) bridge, with major flooding occurring between the levees in Monroe. In addition, portions of the Forsythe Park Recreation Area (including the Forsythe Park Boat Launch) in Monroe was flooded, while water encroached on several buildings along Riverfront Street in West Monroe. A slow fall continued throughout April, with the Ouachita River at Monroe falling below the 43 foot moderate flood stage during the evening hours on April 13th.
