Heavy Snow in California, March 16 to 17, 2018
After a brief break between systems on March 15, another low pressure system brought widespread precipitation to the area on March 16 and 17. The most significant precipitation was in Mariposa County and in the Yosemite Park area where several reporting stations measured over an inch of rainfall.

After a brief break between systems on March 15, another low pressure system brought widespread precipitation to the area on March 16 and 17. The most significant precipitation was in Mariposa County and in the Yosemite Park area where several reporting stations measured over an inch of rainfall. One to two feet of new snow fell above 6000 feet in Yosemite Park. Several other reporting stations in the area picked up between a quarter and half an inch of rainfall. Thunderstorms developed during the afternoon hours of March 16 and 17, with brief periods of heavy rainfall and small hail being the main impacts.
