Most low temperatures will remain above freezing. Monday...Next shortwave trough aloft moves into southern Utah with associated cold front entering our northern counties in the afternoon, producing a cooler day up north compared to today. South of the cold front, temperatures will still reach well up into the 60s and 70s Sunday afternoon across far southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle, with a possible 80 degrees at Sidney. Some strong and gusty winds possible over our wind prone locations in the morning as Craig to Casper 700 mb height gradients are near 55 meters. Isolated afternoon showers north of a Rawlins to Douglas line. Monday night...Most of the energy remains to our south with the passing shortwave trough aloft, though enough lift with a cold frontal passage and weak dynamics aloft to produce scattered showers mainly west of a Douglas to Cheyenne line. Tuesday...Clearing skies as the shortwave trough aloft moves into Oklahoma with zonal flow aloft over our counties. Much cooler with high temperatures only in the 40s. Tuesday night...Mostly clear and cool overnight with relatively light winds. .LONG TERM...(Wednesday through Sunday) Issued at 130 PM MST Sun Nov 26 2017 Modest medium range model/ensemble differences exist through the long term. Pacific mid/upper trough and surface cold front advance east across the CWFA Wednesday, accompanied by isolated to scattered rain/snow showers, mainly west of I-25. Winds shift to northwest and will be gusty behind the front. High temperatures will range from the 30s west to 40s/50s east. Cooler/drier air aloft and northwest flow will result in near normal temperatures with highs in the 39s/40s. A near-zonal flow aloft will prevail Friday with slowly moderating temperatures. Craig-Casper GFS H7/H85 height gradients rise to 45-55m Friday, so it will be rather breezy for much of southeast WY. Next Pacific mid/upper trough and cold front moves into the Great Basin by Sunday, with increasing southwest flow aloft. leading edge of Pacific moisture will spread east into central/south-central WY Sunday afternoon, with isolated mountain snow showers developing. High temperatures next weekend will average 5-10 degrees above seasonal normals.
