Still expect to see an increase in drizzle and fog across the area overnight as well as some light rain showers. Going forecast has this well in hand. 30 PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 537 PM CST Mon Nov 13 2017/ DISCUSSION... AVIATION... IFR/LIFR conditions are expected to develop soon and last through most of Tuesday morning. Some light drizzle and fog will occur. Ceilings may lift to MVFR levels around mid-day Tuesday and are expected to dissipate quickly in the northwest corner of Oklahoma. PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 229 PM CST Mon Nov 13 2017/ DISCUSSION... Main forecast challenge is the short term with chances of fog and precipitation. Hi-res models agree that with increasing moisture and isentropic lift, drizzle and light rain should gradually increase, especially south and east of I-44. Still, any measurable precipitation will likely be light as forcing is weak. Overnight as winds decrease, some areas of fog may form over parts of western Oklahoma and western north Texas. A persistent stratus deck should keep fog from becoming dense, with the possible exception of far northwest Oklahoma. But, all the short term models show some signal of at least some fog developing over that area. As we continue through the week, weak ridging continues with a weak cold front coming through early Wednesday. This will bring with it some more low rain chances. The front then looks to stall and possibly retreat a bit, allowing for continued rain chances into Thursday, especially as southwest winds bring fresh moisture into the area. This persistent dreary pattern comes to an end on Friday as a front makes its way into the area. There is still considerable disagreement between the models on the timing of its front, introducing an element of uncertainty into its effects. In general, winds and temperatures will increase ahead of the front, raising fire weather concerns for Friday. After the passage of the front, we will return to cooler weather for the weekend.
