A strong, fast-moving system moved across the region, bringing rain and snow to much of the area. The heaviest snow fell across the northern and central Black Hills, as upslope-enhanced precipitation produced four to eight inches of snow overnight. Another band of heavy snow developed across portions of Jackson, Mellette, and northern Tripp counties early in the morning, where some areas received four to ten inches of snow. Two to four inches of snow fell across the plains of western South Dakota.
