A stagnant airmass was present over the San Joaquin Valley during the morning of December 30. High clouds streamed over the area overnight, but there was enough clearing toward sunrise and winds remained light. A small area of dense fog developed in the southwestern portion of the San Joaquin Valley. At least 3 minor auto accidents were observed by commuting NWS employees.
