DOT officials reported that heavy rainfall caused Thompson Creek to flood. The creek rose over the bridge at Hornsboro Road near Rudolph Sikes Road. The creek is usually 6 feet below the bridge. The heavy rain caused the width of the creek to increase approximately 150 to 200 feet at the bridge. The radar estimated that 4 to 6 inches of rain fell in the creek basin. The duration of the flash flood was 30 minutes.
