Dewpoint temperatures were in the middle 70s across the region as well...resulting in late morning and afternoon heat index values near or above 105 degrees.

afternoon with isolated thunderstorms possible across MLU through
07/00Z. South winds 15 knots with higher gusts expected through
the afternoon. Gusts to diminish during the overnight hours with
winds persisting around 10 knots. Otherwise, MVFR ceilings
possible by daybreak across most terminal sites with the exception
of TXK and ELD. Conditions to become VFR by 07/15Z. /05/

THREAT AND THE WINDS MAY BRIEFLY GUST TO 40 MPH NEAR ANY DOWNPOUR.
OTHERWISE...HEAT INDEX VALUES AROUND 105 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED
TODAY. IF OUTDOORS...BE SURE YOU DRINK PLENTY OF WATER...WEAR
LIGHTWEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING AND TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS IN
