A fast moving grass fire occurred in Yuma County Colorado near the intersection of Highway 34 and Road Z. Additional resources were required from fire departments in Wauneta, Yuma, Vernon, Eckley, and Wages. The fire completely destroyed a residence and several outbuildings. Highway 34 and an adjacent railway line were temporarily closed. The fire consumed 299.2 acres.
