The episode as NWS PHI wrote it up.
A moist, southwest flow of air preceding a cold front dropped two to four inches of snow across most of Eastern Pennsylvania during the daytime hours on the 25th. While less snow accumulated on roadways, untreated and less traveled ones became slippery. Accidents in particular were reported in the Lehigh Valley and included incidents on U.S. Route 22 and Interstate 78. In the Philadelphia suburbs, northbound travel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension between Lansdale (Montgomery County) and Quakertown (Bucks County) was slowed because of a truck accident. A truck skidded off the road and was teetering over an embankment. No injuries were reported. Snow began on the 25th around sunrise in the Poconos and slowly spread to the southeast reaching the Lehigh Valley around 9 a.m. EST and the local Philadelphia area around 11 a.m. EST. The steady snow ended that afternoon between 4 p.m. EST and 5 p.m. EST in most areas. The snow fell at its heaviest during the early afternoon in the local Philadelphia area, and during the middle of the afternoon in Berks County, the Lehigh Valley and Poconos. Isolated snow squalls that night dropped up to an additional inch of snow as the cold front itself moved through.
Representative snowfall included 4.0 inches in Lake Harmony (Carbon County), 3.0 inches in Ridley Park (Delaware County) and Ardmore (Montgomery County), 2.8 inches in Huffs Church/District Township (Berks County), 2.6 inches in Forks Township (Northampton County), 2.5 inches in Lehigton (Carbon County), 2.3 inches in Drexel Hill (Delaware County) and Bushkill Township (Northampton County), 2.2 inches in Furlong (Bucks County) and Mount Airy (Philadelphia), 2.1 inches at the Philadelphia International Airport and Slatington (Lehigh County), 2.0 inches in East Nantmeal (Chester County) and Saylorsburg (Monroe County), 1.8 inches in Quakertown (Bucks County) and Gilbertsville (Montgomery County), 1.5 inches in Bensalem (Bucks County) and the Lehigh Valley International Airport, 1.3 inches in Kutztown (Berks County) and New London (Chester County).
