An Arctic airmass seeped into Oklahoma on the heels of a strong Arctic front. As this occurred, an upper trough deepened across the southwestern U.S. This allowed for widespread precipitation from northwestern through western and central Oklahoma. Locally heavy snowbands developed during the day, leading to spotty snowfall totals of 3 to 4 inches.
