A slow-moving upper level storm system pushed east across the state creating gusty winds over portions of the area. The strongest winds occurred from Socorro County eastward toward the Upper Tularosa Valley.

A slow-moving upper level storm system pushed east across the state creating gusty winds over portions of the area. The strongest winds occurred from Socorro County eastward toward the Upper Tularosa Valley. Gusts in excess of 60mph were reported around the White Sands Missile Range.

SNOW DEVELOPING ACROSS THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS NEAR THE COLORADO
BORDER TODAY WILL EXPAND TO THE SUMMITS AND HIGHER SLOPES OF THE
CONTINENTAL DIVIDE...JEMEZ MOUNTAINS...SANGRE DE CRISTO
MOUNTAINS...AND THE SUMMITS OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN.
MODERATE ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL OVER SUMMITS AND HIGHER SLOPES BY
LATE THIS AFTERNOON MAY IMPEDE TRAVEL ON ROADS THROUGH THE HIGH
COUNTRY. IN ADDITION...GUSTY AFTERNOON WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER THE
SOUTH CENTRAL MOUNTAINS BY EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. WINDS WILL REMAIN
GUSTY THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
