What happened

The episode as NWS CAR wrote it up.

Strong south to southeast winds developed between high pressure east of the maritimes and deep low pressure approaching from the southwest. The strong winds snapped branches and toppled trees which brought down powerlines contributing to numerous power outages. Around 13,000 customers lost power for varying amounts of time. The strong onshore winds...gusting up to 62 mph along the immediate coast...combined with astronomically high tides to produce localized coastal flooding around the time of high tide.
