What happened

The episode as NWS DLH wrote it up.

A storm system brought widespread wet snow to much of northeast Minnesota. A band of heavier snow amounts in the 6 to 11 inch range fell from Pine County to Duluth, the Iron Range, and north shore of Lake Superior. However, areas near the lake shore remained mostly rain as onshore winds kept temperatures there slightly warmer. Snowfall rates of over 1 inch per hour were common during the afternoon, when the heaviest snow fell.
