Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
The very dry conditions continued across the parishes of northeast Louisiana through the month of July. While several of the parishes were already experiencing extreme drought (D3) when July started, the D3 area actually expanded more as July moved along. Normal rainfall across this area for July is 3 to 4 inches. Only 1 to 2 inches actually fell during the month. Crops continued to be put under stress from the dry and hot conditions. The likely impact will be less crop yields when harvest arrives in early Fall.
