A winter storm moved across northwest Indiana on January 7th and 8th. Snow began falling late in the evening on January 6th and continued into the morning hours of January 8th. Lake effect snow then began falling on January 8th and continued through the evening of January 9th. Storm total snowfall amounts included 11.9 inches in Schererville; 9.7 inches in Highland; 9.1 inches in Lowell; 6.5 inches 2 miles south of Morocco; 6.4 inches 2 miles west northwest of Wanatah and 5.9 inches in Rensselaer.
