Gusty northwest wind blew down the Wind River Valley producing frequent gusts in excess of 50 mph during the afternoon of Saturday, October 25. Sustained wind speeds ranged from 25 to 35 mph during the afternoon and evening hours. A peak gust of 60 mph was registered at 1205MST on ASOS equipment at Riverton Regional Airport. The period of strong wind resulted in damage to about one-third of an elementary school gymnasium roof in Riverton.
