A pre-frontal squall line formed well ahead of a strong cold front and swept across the eastern portions of the Carolinas at near 50 mph during the afternoon. Embedded thunderstorms were very low topped and produced very little lightning. Winds at 1000 ft were around 50 knots.

The Emergency Manager in Georgetown County surveyed damage in the Pleasant Hill community at the intersection of Bullard Road and Pleasant Hill Drive. Shingles were blown off of five homes. Several trees, as tall as sixty feet, were snapped and some were lying across roadways. One mobile home was pushed from its foundation. The damage was the result of straight-line winds estimated at up to 65 mph.

A large tree fell onto a powerline in Lambert. About 3000 people were without power. Power was restored to all areas by 230 pm EST.
