Gusty showers, ahead of a cold front, raced east during the early afternoon. Wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph were common. Elkins had a 38 mph wind gust. Buckhannon measured a gust to 41 mph. A house in Moatsville was heavily damaged, when a tree fell on it. Other trees fell in Elkins.
