A wildfire burned 2500 to 3000 acres of land about 25 miles north-northeast of Wolf Point. The fire was likely started by lightning, and was difficult to contain due to strong wind.

A wildfire burned 2500 to 3000 acres of land about 25 miles north-northeast of Wolf Point. The fire was likely started by lightning, and was difficult to contain due to strong wind. The fire was declared controlled on the night of the 24th, but the strong wind re-ignited the fire again on the 25th, and it was not under control until the morning of the 26th. The smoke from the fire made it's way into the towns of Wolf Point and Poplar, and made the air difficult to breath for a time.
