Lightning sparked a wildfire in Modoc County on 07/26/06. This became known as the Sage Wildfire. As of 07/31/06, the blaze burned 6200 acres. No structures have been lost, and no injuries or deaths have been reported. Estimated containment date was 08/05/06. The cost of fighting the fire is unknown.
