Strong northwest winds behind a cold front moved southeast across southeast South Dakota. The winds reached sustained speeds of 40 mph with gusts to around 60 mph, with a duration of these high speeds of 3 to 4 hours. The strong winds overturned a semi truck near Pickstown, and blew a tree onto a house at Mitchell.
