Runoff from heavy rains in southern North Dakota and northern Brown county caused the James River at Columbia to rise above flood stage on June 11th and remain above flood stage through the end of the month. The river rose to 17.2 feet on June 14th where flood stage is 13 feet. Agricultural land and several township roads were flooded.
