Light freezing rain fell late in the afternoon on the 17th leading to icy roadways in the Lower Columbia Basin. Temperatures then remained below freezing through the night and early in the morning on the 18th which resulted in continued icy roadways...forcing the closure of the Hermiston, Umatilla, Echo, and Stanfield School Districts.
