The Towns County 911 center reported that earlier light rain had frozen on the roads and created some spots of black ice. Some vehicle accidents were reported as a result. In addition, some light snow fell in the area. Temperatures plummeted into the 20s during the evening as a strong Arctic cold front moved through the area with northwest winds of 20-30 mph and some higher gusts. This caused residual moisture on the roads in the area to freeze.
