A deep low pressure system moved along the southeast coast during the overnight hours on the 27th into the 28th. As heavy rainfall exited the area, strong pressure rises brought winds aloft to the surface. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down across Southeast Georgia, some which were blocking highways.

35-40 KT WITH GUSTS NEAR 50 KT AND 9 FT SEAS ABOUT 10 MILES OUT FROM
THE HARBOR ENTRANCE. FOLLY BEACH C-MAN ALSO REPORTED WNDS NEAR 39
KT. HAVE UPDATED THE CWF TO INCR WINDS AND SEAS SLGTLY. DO NOT THINK
GUSTS WL BE FREQUENT ENOUGH TO GO WITH A STORM WRNG ATTM. WE ARE
WATCHING THE BACK EDGE OF THE PCPN MOVING QUICKLY THROUGH SRN GA
VERY CAREFULLY. STRONG SUBSIDENCE COMING IN ON THE BACK EDGE OF THIS
LINE HAS HELPED TO INDUCE SOME PRETTY HEFTY WIND GUSTS.

.MARINE WINDS...EASTERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 30 TO 35 KNOTS WITH
GUSTS TO 45 KNOTS ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS AND THE CHARLESTON
HARBOR TONIGHT. A GALE WARNING IS IN EFFECT. REFER TO THE
LATEST COASTAL WATERS FORECAST AND MARINE WEATHER STATEMENT FOR MORE

.HIGH SURF...STRONG EAST WINDS WILL INCREASE SEAS INTO THE 7 TO 10
