A strong low pressure system over northern Maine the morning of Friday, November 5th moved northeast across the mouth of the St Lawrence River in eastern Canada the evening of November 5th. Gusty northwest winds resulted in upslope snow along the western slopes of the Green Mountains and across north central and northeast Vermont.

A strong low pressure system over northern Maine the morning of Friday, November 5th moved northeast across the mouth of the St Lawrence River in eastern Canada the evening of November 5th. Gusty northwest winds resulted in upslope snow along the western slopes of the Green Mountains and across north central and northeast Vermont. In Vermont, generally between 2 and 6 inches fell with a few locally higher amounts in the mountains. Specifically, a few reports included; the greatest amount of 8.7 inches in the elevated town of Sutton (Caledonia county), with 6.5 inches in East Albany (Orleans county), 4 inches in Eden (Lamoille county) and 2 inches in East Haven (Essex county).
