SCATTERED SHOWERS FORMING ALONG FIRST FRONTAL BOUNDARY AND IN AREA
OF SLIGHTLY HIGHER ELEVATED INSTABILITY OVER SOUTH CENTRAL AND SE
MN. SECOND TROUGH LOCATED OVER EASTERN DAKOTAS AND THIS FEATURE WILL
MOVE ACROSS CWA LATE THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON. BEST DIFFERENTIAL
TEMP ADVECTION OVER NE MN. BEST EXIT REGION OF INCOMING JET WILL BE
IN EAST CENTRAL AND NE MN AS WELL. WILL KEEP THE SCT WORDING OF
SHOWERS LATER IN THE DAY BUT CUT BACK ON POPS OVER SW AND WEST
CENTRAL AREAS. LOOKS LIKE THE FORCING MOVE OUT FAIRLY QUICKLY THIS
EVENING BUT THE RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION OF THE JET SETS UP TO FAVOR
FAR SOUTHERN MN LATE TONIGHT. THE ETA HAS BEEN FORECASTING A RATHER
SIG AREA OF FULL WIND FRONTOGENESIS OVER FAR SOUTHERN MN THE LAST
FEW RUNS...BUT THE THE BEST WARM ADVECTION FIELDS WILL BE OVER IOWA.
WILL KEEP THE POPS GOING IN THE FAR SOUTH..BUT THE BOTH GFS AND ETA
DROP THE FORCING SOUTH OF THE AREA RATHER QUICKLY THURSDAY
AFTERNOON. WILL LEAVE POPS IN FOR NOW..BUT WILL INFORM NEXT DAY
SHIFT TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK. WILL UP TEMPS AT LEAST SOUTHERN AREAS
TODAY AHEAD OF THE NEXT FRONT. OTHERWISE...COOL AIR SETTLES IN FOR

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER INDICATES THAT THERE IS A SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND
EARLY THIS EVENING. SCATTERED STORMS ARE EXPECTED ALONG AND
AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. THIS COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO MOVE FROM
NORTHWEST MINNESOTA AT MIDDAY...TO THE ST CLOUD AREA AROUND
4 PM...THEN THE ST CROIX RIVER VALLEY BY EARLY EVENING. THE MAIN
THREAT FROM THESE STORMS IS EXPECTED TO BE LARGE HAIL AND STRONG
WINDS.
