A second winter storm struck north central and northeast Kansas beginning late on the 28th as an upper level disturbance moved northeast out of the southern Rockies. Snow, with some freezing drizzle, fell across an area generally north and west of a line from Emporia to Lawrence. Snow amounts generally varied from 2 to 5 inches over the area with local amounts around 7 inches in the Centralia area. Slick and slushy roadways were reported along with a number of vehicle accidents. There were no reports of injuries or fatalities however.
