A 19-year-old male was swept off the reef by high surf at Ypao beach, in Tumon, and drowned. The high surf was related to the passage of Tropical Storm Ting-Ting through the Mariana Islands. At the time of the drowning, Ting-Ting was centered about 215 miles northeast of Guam.
