A few inches of snow and sleet fell on Thursday the 4th in Pocahontas County, followed by a lull Thursday night. A mixture of rain and snow fell early Friday. The mixture changed to accumulating snow late Friday afternoon the 5th. The snow continued into the early morning hours of Saturday the 6th. Snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches were common. The mountain ridge location at Snowshoe had a 10 inch accumulation.
